Seems a bit pointless these days tbh. Sometimes if I want social board people to see a music board thread I just link to it in the daily thread or something. Everyone should post everywhere all of the time.

As someone who wasn’t about in the old boards that are often talked about in tones that suggest they were a bleak, dark place, I find it a bit odd to see people say they avoid the music board because of attitudes, cliques or whatever, as in my experience pretty much everyone who is active in the music boards is also active in the social boards, meaning the closest to a clique I observe is the fact there are people that deliberately avoid the music boards.
Think it’s fine to make threads for that group to talk about music if it fills a gap they have otherwise, but as someone who’s probably more a music board poster on average I’m still going to post in them as if they were any thread. Not sure it’s going to exclude any music board regulars, hopefully that isn’t the intention anyway.

There used to be a lot of what I’d call Boring Dubstep Men on the music boards, people with very strong “I used to be into indie but then I discovered electronic music and/or jazz and that obviously makes me the unquestioned arbiter of all music” attitudes.
Hasn’t been like that for a very long time though.

Don’t think it’s quite as many as you think. There are quite a lot of people who stick to the music board, always have some unfamiliar names pop up when I’m doing votes for stuff.
It’s like genres don’t even exist maaaaan.
But aye kinda pointless.
It’s a shame if people do think the music board has any bad vibes. Don’t think I’ve ever seen any drama/rows there to anywhere near the extent of other bits of DiS tbh.
