yeah just realised I replied to myself here @Kallgeese this was directed at you.

It amuses me too tbh. It’s so incongruous with my whole person. All the imagery is incredible as well.

Some stuff even I’d forgotten on there. The Enfields <3

psychotic reaction and hanging on the telephone are two of my all time faves, so obviously solid choices. working my way through the other stuff I’m not too familiar with rn

Would HIGHLY recommend this record compilation too which I only took one track from out of fairness but more or less fulfils the remit with ultimate authority

Sound boss! It’s one of my favourite Hüsker Dü songs!

Also, ‘Slow’ is the hidden MBV banger. Everyone should know about it.

I think my favourite thing in BM is whenever a band resolves the chaotic blast-beat into a swaying 6/8 like on that Emperor track (first three are not really my jam tbh). Opeth and Fluisteraars are two I’ve clocked before pulling that particular trick.

Another classic wonton trolling

first three are the most black metal on there!

:see_no_evil:

All the black metal I’ve really enjoyed is (at risk of being really reductive) more ‘melodic’. I feel pretty unmoved by that Burzum track. Conversely, I’d like a bit more aggression and ‘rawness’ in that Ulver track (still pretty good, mind, and I’m only 4 mins in so maybe it gets heavier).

 that scullion album is great. i love those songs and was trying to find modernish arrangements that weren’t too terrible.
