First album I bought with my own £££s was Smash Hits of the 80s on vinyl - would be unlikely to listen to it in its entirety, but the tracks from it that I liked at the time are indelibly inked into my consciousness forever as a result of how often I played it.

First CD I bought was Broken by Nine Inch Nails. Still love it to death and think it’s easily the best thing he’s ever done. Might listen to it right now in fact…

First five albums would be something like:

Footrot Flats soundtrack (film version of classic NZ farm-based cartoon). Would not listen.
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet: I’ll still jump around to Livin’ on a Prayer in the right mood, but would never listen to the album
Genesis - Genesis:haven’t played it in a million years but could probably give it a whirl.
Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust: ditto
Queen - Greatest Hits Vol I. Some bona fide classics here for sure.

First one I’d really happily listen to is Strangeways Here We Come.

I think it was either the Blue Album or In Utero. The first album that was given to me as a gift was Robbie Williams’ I’ve Been Expecting You which I remember being a bit miffed by because Angels wasn’t on it…

Micro Machines and Chupa chups! I had a massive tin of them when I was playing it. I remember Cherry Cola being the favourite.

Very fond memory of me and my mate Nick playing Serious Sam on the Xbox listening to Deloused in the Comatorium on a constant loop.

Might ask him if he’s up for it again.

EDIT: Skip to the very end of the first track and then listen to the beginning of the second… repeat.

Just wanted to say ta to @Ruffers for starting this thread, because it meant I listened to “The Kick Inside” again for the first time in absolutely ages on my train home this evening. I’d genuinely forgotten what a sex-obsessed teenager Kate Bush was, but it was great and “The Man With The Child In His Eyes” is still a classic.

Followed that up with “Parallel Lines” too, which was another bonus.
