I very rarely do it. Can probably count on one hand the amount of books I’ve given up on (Naked Lunch, The Book of Dave, Brief History Of Seven Killings, all spring to mind).

This one is a bit different because it’s short stores, so there’s always been a sense that the next story will finally be interesting. It hasn’t been the case. Thought I was going to get through it last night but I fell asleep.

I just made up a rule for short story books. Try two and if you’re not enjoying them quit it. You can always go back to them later.

I read an article about how many books you are likely to read before you die and it was depressingly low (something like 30 more) so now I am far more ruthless

Yeah. Me too with two mini wines. I walk in with one pre-poured and will have the other mid way in.

I’m seeing a film at The BFI today. It’s sold out and so will have to wait for a loud bit in the film as the metal cap seal makes a sound when you break it.

I’ve done this when taking a beer into the cinema too, which obviously makes a LOT more noise than opening a wine.

FFS, come on extremely loud noise :rage: Are there even any car chases or explosions in this fucking film about inter-personal relationships in small Transylvanian villages*?

*Katalin Varga - was pretty good, if bleak…

I was very very excited today to buy two posters

but they sold out in less than 3 minutes while I was in my cart filling out my credit card details and I am SO ANGRY right now
