Sorry but that’s absolutely insane

I changed from sorting alphabetically to by genre ages ago and I’m not going back.
Means if I’m looking for something ambient and chill it’s all on the same shelf together. Much easier to find things to listen to.
All my DOOM stuff just lives together.

My darling, darling partner put a Johnny Foreigner record back under F and I found it amusing but also got a twitch in my eye I was so irked

Was very irksome when I had one record in between the Girl Band and Gilla Band records. Very liberating to realise I could simply move them together

Depends if it’s a real name.
F for Nathan Fake
C for Cat Power
D for Ringo Deathstarrr
O for Bonnie Prince Billy
Knew this thread would irk me

Depends doesn’t it? If it’s a serious and significant name change then I’ll accept it, but if like Bloc Party changed their name to Bloc Poopty and released an album worth having, I’d still put it with the good stuff and continue to deadname them. Final Fantasy and Owen Pallett live together under O.
I also put Owen Pallett’s old band Les Mouches with the solo stuff. Paul Simon lives with Simon & Garfunkel.
Oh, do you file Joya under P? Or B?
Only own Bonnie Prince Billy records so they’re under B. Smog and Bill Callahan are separated and I guess that’s an equivalent
