I did actually like this track, better than I assumed anything other than The Rat would be - definitely top half of the playlist for me.
thought i’d voted for and commented on john foxx but it turns out i did neither, whoops sorry foxx fans
replied like you were saying it as a general thing to consider
@wikihock originally thought the song was a 7 letter song - such chutzpah submitting it for this round!
there’s so much more to them than that tune!
it’s really quite an outlier in their discography
I was just saying it as a counterpoint as to why I like Deafhaven was all
Listening to that Deafheaven track made me realise that I need to give them another go actually haha
you could spend that time listening to, idk, Blut Aus Nord instead??
I would say Deathspell Omega, but pretty sure the main person in them is a Neo-Nazi
Happy with my points from @Octobadger and the comments. It was never going to challenge the top of the board (or necessarily liked), but at least it would get noticed. One of my favourite discoveries last year - great album. Hope I can get to see them play live some time.
Bedsitter not on 100 points? (Not mine) You’re all wrong!
‘incredible’ NO POINTS!
I almost gave this one two - not sure why you ended up with zero? Im a dummy
this was an interesting tune and I would like to hear more!
I did have to double check the points from @theShipment, but I assume it went against the 9 letters in the same word rule.
Disappointed that @Octobadger gave up with the countdown word creations before reaching my track, to see if he could have got more than a four letter word!
ooh, maybe Krallice?
you can all do better than Deafheaven!!
(sorry I have a real bone to pick with that band aha)
It’s a great song. Pop but a lot more depth than standard Pop fare. Still sounds fresh 40 years on and massively unfairly shadowed by the single that preceded it.
Glad a few people enjoyed LVL UP. Almost went for Soft Power off their previous album which is a bit more of a banger but stuck to my guns.
Love the guys voice.
I’ve listened to Blut Aus Nord before and they’re ok. But I’m incredibly picky when it comes to black metal, needs to really stand out.
Not saying that’s what Deafheaven does, though.
The same way “proper” metal fans don’t like Liturgy?
Liturgy are way better than Deafheaven, was gonna say that they at least brought some invention to what they were doing
DH are a bland post-Mogwai post-rock band cosplaying as a black metal band!
they don’t claim to be a black metal band tho, they’ve publicly stated they’re not black metal
