Iām not a fan of pop punk but even so this playlist has given me a couple of songs that are going on my repeat listens playlist so well done music leaguers, youāve done it again!
Oh also amazing shout whoever picked Crackout
Very nearly played this for those sweet Tony Hawk points
but worried about the ska-punk pedantry. Also I played a better song.
It would have been a point from me
enjoyed that round. few good things on there iāve not heard before, also a few things that i never never want to hear ever again
Fair few songs where I thought āyeah, youāre average pop punk fan would hate thisā
I went to a pop punk night at the Macbeth in Shoreditch with my aforementioned friend and all I can say is that the bar for āwhat a pop punk fan wants to hear at a pop punk partyā probably isnāt where you think it isā¦
Iāve somehow got 3 whole points. Laughing at all the 0 pointers!
Iām going to time how long you listen to the playlist for.
Going to try and listen to as much as possible - I finished the last league with a 22 minute jazz track, if 6 people listened to that in full then thatās more time than it takes me to listen to this full playlist, reckon I owe people that.
I forced people to listen to Sheets of Easter, but I probably averaged 30 secs per track here. Youāre a better man than I.
Kind of wishing today I had picked my absolute favorite song by the artist I went with, but I think @paulo was right about pop punk being a genre where thereās something to be said for familiarity / nostalgia. Probably the ultimate genre for that.
Dunno, thatās what I went for (nostalgia for me at any rate) and Iām sitting on, well, less than one point so far.
This approach was tempting but I always try to listen to everything in full once. Itās ranging from bearable to terrible for me, so not too bad!
I think the only Music League tracks Iāve ever skipped, since joining in ML5, have been by Prince and Kate Bush. I even made it through Sheets of Easter.
Youāre on my list of enemies now
I was taking it as being they skipped those because they were familiar but maybe not. Radiohead are my favourite band and Iāve skipped them every time theyāve been on Music League.
I reached the Wonder Years track before I got home, only skipped the Mighty Mighty Bosstones so far so I think Iāll make it through the rest.
Im anihilating u
Thanks for the reminder.
I like a lot of different types of punk, have since the early 90s. Iām not scared of pop punk, have listened to plenty, or emo ā considering Green Day and early Blink 182 as pop punk and stuff like SDRE as the more popular type of emo. What I donāt particularly like is pop emo, and thatās kind of what people tend to see as pop punk the last decade or so isnāt it? Gonna dive into this soon but suspect Iād have liked a Pop Punk playlist created in the year 2000 more than one created today.
