With my first choice DIS-friendly artist having been claimed ahead of me, I’ve gone for something very un-DIS. Think I may get a nostalgic smile from a few people but very few if any points I’m guessing. Still, probably not something people will be expecting, so that’s fun at least.

I suspected it would be fastest finger first with my favourite Welsh artist (Kelly Lee Owens). So it proved and she was gone well before the nominations officially opened. I’ve been magnanimous and picked someone else rather than take us both out.

My paternal grandfather went to the North Wales slate mines when the quarrying work dried up in Dorset. I think he was there a year. For some reason that’s enough for my family to support the Welsh rugby team, and for there to be genuine pride when I went to Cardiff University. All a bit weird.

Good guesses, but none of those (and not Bonnie Tyler either!) although wouldn’t be surprised at all to see at least two of those first three appearing on the playlist and getting votes…

Got in early and got my first choice but just had a check to see if my 2nd to 4th choices were gone, and whilst my second choice artist is gone (for a different song), my 3rd and 4th aren’t in yet at all for the artists. Quite torn now because all these artists should be in there, was assuming given the size of the country that they’d all have been taken by now. Back on my first choice but doing some soul-searching.

i tried too, but was sharp elbowed out of it i think 40 minutes before submissions opened. only really like one tune on the album that the pick is from and the pick is not that song, so won’t be voting for it. guess it’ll get lots of points though, thought she might stand out amongst the other picks. hoping to be proved wrong that it’ll be >90% guitar stuff

Just had a check of my planned second choice, and see that someone else has picked them, so glad they’re not going to waste!
Mine’s another new discovery, and it starts off nice but then gets so good. Aiming for that sweet 10 point total this time around.

I think it’s going to be be way more diverse than that. A few songs in mind that I’d be amazed not to see that aren’t guitar based. My pick isn’t either.
