Thinking of the Bees cover maybe? It was used at the start of the Radcliffe and Maconie show for years and years (maybe still is, but I’m not up early enough on the weekend to hear the start).

who knew Sudanese jazz was so good?

Definitely finding this one the hardest – loads I really want to give points to and I feel like 1 point for 10 tracks won’t do them justice…

I think it was used in an ad a few years ago… possibly Fanta?

I can see that there are plenty of songs I’ll enjoy on this but shuffle seems determined to make me listen to them last.

maybe it’s because people look for patterns, but thought it interesting that after 15 rounds with no ethiojazz (to my memory), this one turned up two. was shocked when i picked group doueh in 2011 round and someone else had gone for another desert blues one, tinariwen. not to mention three brazilian acts this time, know we’ve had brazilians before, but still

I feel like generally the choices in this round don’t feel quite as expectedly ‘DiS’ as previous rounds.

I don’t speak either language but I wonder if Ethiopian and Portuguese (or the Brazilian dialect of it) perhaps lend themselves to songs starting with A? After all the capital of Ethiopia is Addis Ababa…

If you’re not giving Jimmy Nail 10 points, are you even a music fan?

Very surprised to be on zero points after 10 votes but reaffirms the point that u all have awful taste in music other than me

I reckon it’s Beck, Odelay era, but I’m at the point where I think Deadweight just reminds me of it. Or vice versa.
