Fair, but the description is a song which tells a story, so singing isn’t one of the necessary criteria. Lots of great songs in this round where the story isn’t sung (like the Ghostface Killah one).

I have the free version of Spotify (with adds) and thoroughly enjoyed hearing an add for the Royal Marines just before Camouflage came on.

How dare people use the round to put something that super specifically fits the playlist criteria

I prefer that to an indie bloke mumbling under some slightly distorted guitars

The sweet spot for me is something like the divine comedy song where the story is delivered in a way that you can actually follow it and it makes you want to keep listening

Yeah I much favoured the songs that felt different to the stuff you would find on literally every other playlist just because the lyrics vaguely tells a story

it’s always a relief when you get your first vote!

(Two votes out of the last three voters! Much prefer these Day 2 Voters)

Just voted, surprised to see not being able to hear the lyrics in a storytelling round isn’t stopping some tracks getting points.

Haven’t got all the way through yet but have listened to enough to vote with a clear conscience if I don’t get round to listening to the ones I’ve missed.

I found this round the hardest yet to actually find a song for. I only had three ideas I had for it; someone else picked one and I’m amazed no-one went for the other (I Left My Wallet in El Segundo), so I can’t really get annoyed with anyone for picking something that seems to tell a story too overtly.

I like you all, and I love the music league, but I’m really not enjoying this playlist tbh. Normally struggle to only give ten songs one point, feel like I could barely name ten I’ve enjoyed this time around.

I feel the same. It’s probably my least favourite playlist so far.

There’s plenty of great songs on this. Don’t know what you lot are on about!

Yep, there’s always plenty of songs that I don’t like, but I’ve got a playlist of about a third of this playlist which I really liked, which is more than previous playlists. And a few new discoveries also which is always good.

I thought the middle of the playlist was awful but it started and ended well

The narrative of my song is really pants when detached from the album as its the opening chapter XD

I was feeling like this but it picked up as it went along I thought

But yeah I like story songs and I enjoy spoken word stuff but strangely I didn’t love this round

worried people are too spent by the time they get to my pick

I think What into The Dishwasher tired me pretty quickly. In a vacuum those are great tracks but not side by side.

Let’s be careful making sweeping statements like this for now. I understand it’s all in good humour and I think such opinions are fine when the votes are closed but whilst the votes are open saying that around 50% of the playlist is awful could subconsciously prejudice people against voting for those songs or make them avoid them.

If people care what I think then thats great - they have way more stock in my opinion then I do
