Curious to see if there are any songs that are part of a larger narrative - in the mood for the a story driven concept album and will be seeking out ideas in this playlist

If not that then I’ll be disappointed in all of you >:(

Maybe all the individual tracks of American Idiot have been submitted by different people

I just want to take a moment to admire this

Rush
Iron Maiden
Hawkwind
King Crimson

Thanks! But I’ve heard all those - will deffo revisit Rush and King Crimson at some point though

They’re gonna finish 35th and swipe that sweet round nomination prize for League 3!

I would have given you all the points had you picked Y Teimlad, obviously.

If I hadn’t picked Aces High in a previous round, Maiden would have been on my shortlist here. Although might have been pushing my luck there

@Dawnwalker would have been good as well actually if I hadn’t already picked them

Last minute change which I’m very surprised I wasn’t beaten to

If, hypothetically, I don’t get a chance to listen to this in full

  • Don’t vote, zero points is just reward for your failure
  • Let discobot randomly assign 10 points for me
  • Other?

Ah, nice to see that Jeffrey Lewis song in there. Great story/song and I loved that album back in the day.

I can see an Aidan Moffat song, although I was expecting his Greatest Story Ever Told with Bill Wells.

I usually make a shortlist of about 20 or so songs, based on quickish first impressions. It’s not ideal, but it makes it a lot easier. Also, you’ll know quite a few songs already, so will know whether to shortlist them.

there was a Liege And Lief track on my shortlist as well, not this one though. I might also have to break my one point per song rule for Powderfinger…

Thought Hurricaine, Fresh Prince & Good Morning Captain were dead carts, but surprised to see The First Big Weekend omitted, no Tom Waits and the Divine Comedy pick not being Something For The Weekend.
