Written by Rowland S Howard when he was 16. Great song. There’s a live solo version by him on a compilation that came out a few years ago which is my favourite.

More geography than music but I assumed “New Brighton Promenade” by the Boo Radleys was about a new promenade that had been built in Brighton on the south coast. Rather than a promenade at a place called New Brighton.
