The term math rock seems to have changed over time, now I reckon it does describe American football, every local band I see nowadays sounds like them, with flashy finger tapping. Back in the day it seemed to describe more abrasive stuff

If American football are math rock then so is the Flowers of Romance by PiL. Just because it’s not 4/4 doesn’t make it math rock. Just because other people have misinterpreted it doesn’t mean that they’re right

If Tiny Moving Parts (who are amazing) are not emo what are they? It’s the easiest way to describe them in a single word even tho the word has been used for many different sounding bands
