Can we not ask @Twinkletoes to host a Disintegration State bandcamp release of the various “tributes” to MV, including the masterful “My Vitriol” by Infinite Morgan & Le Fuss?

Listening back, the Basinski’esque outro is a particular highlight (that qualifies it for Disintegration State, right?)

A gig at Islington Academy and/or Scala, of course! Finelines LIVE in FULL, for the first time in nearly… checks watch two years!

A direct-to-band release from their fanbase. Som would be all over it.

Would probably go to a My Vitriol gig at this point if it was safe tbh

Also worth pointing out that they haven’t managed to write or record a follow up in twenty years, either. Absolutely shameful really.

In 2008 they apparently had a bunch of locals jump the fence on the sunday night or something, so to combat that, in 2009 they moved the camp site half way up the hill and searched everyone more thoroughly than I’ve ever been searched going anywhere. Took ages to get in and out of the arena. Feel like there were other issues too. Was still fun, but much less.

Here’s something funny, was just looking through the My Vitriol Wikipedia entry history, and found some funny bits in the original update after the Secret Sessions was released.

The moment it changed from the second album to the Secret Sessions updated by LincolnshireRocks.

LincolnshireRocks also added this description for the album after it was released “In October 2016 the album was received by the fanbase, with extremely positive reactions via social media.” with the reference for this being http://twitter.com/myvitriol

This was then corrected with “That Twitter had positive feedback is not a reliable source.”

There’s a user called Strongbowyahh who kept changing Som Wardner to Som Wardner (born Saumya Wijayawardhana) multiple times, even after it was removed which seems a bit weird.

Lots of exasperated moderators leaving comments like “A BMI search does not give any results on either of the two names. An ASCAP search for My Vitriol gives me the name Saumya Wija Wardner. But only for two songs, which is odd. Under BLP guidelines, it needs better refs, see Talk page please.”

Oh, just saw that this Strongbow user said “restored real name and ref. Out of interest - how do you imagine someone from Sri Lanka has the surname Wardner?!” one time, so seems like an unhinged racist prick.

Thought that the page didn’t document all the shit that’s been explored in depth in these threads, so made a few little updates and corrections. I stuck to verifiable facts without emotion, so that there’s no justification for them being removed.

I’m guessing that the band have got alerts setup for whenever someone edits their page, so let’s see how long before one of them tries to rewrite it.

Always good when this thread gets a bump

didn’t realise PledgeMusic shut down

presume they’ll blame the lack of any new releases ever again on that

Pretty lengthy piece about it posted by Ken Andrews from Failure - https://loudwire.com/failure-frontman-alleges-ex-pledgemusic-ceo-refund-new-employers-clients/

Not long I guess given this:

Oh actually looks like the only change is to your link to DiS being via Wayback not direct?

I linked to my revision since I assumed it would only be a short while before the original was reverted.
