Genuinely every album they’ve released has been better than the one before it. The most recent album Stages (about the passing of their mother) is stunning.

Ah man. You said the C word. That band forever hold a place in my heart.

Everyone needs to be thinking constantly about what a great album Sparkle & Fade is.

i liked that bike for three one as well, and the one with Wicked and Weird on. Was dead into him for a bit, remember that he did a spoken word thing at Truck one year. Think I only knew of him because he was a Truck regular actually, back when that festival was a tiny thing

Yeah, same actually - I started going in 2003 and definitely saw him there a bunch of times.

Now this is something I genuinely haven’t thought about in years - how great Truck used to be when it was thirty quid

Still listen to Midlake and they still get played on 6music a bit (well Roscoe does at least). The criminally underrated The Courage of Others was reissued on vinyl by Bella Union a couple of months ago.

The Longcut’s last album in 2018 was an underrated gem I thought

That first album is still great.

I only became aware of them around the Low Five single. Never knowingly listened to an album by them
