have had to stop watching s5 cause she’s making me want to just shout OTHER PEOPLE HAVE LIVES TOO at her

I really like the show a lot but she is basically unbearable.

just a character, innit

she’s meant to be sarcastic as a defence mechanism and she’s smug because she’s always been stubborn and things have always worked out just fine for her so far (bar her love life)

Aye, I find her immensely watchable and a great character but if she existed in real life I wouldn’t want to be her friend.

i am talking about pretty full blown narcissism, in particular the Vulnerable narcissist -
talks about themselves constantly, exaggerates accomplishments, doesn’t listen to anyone else, describes most other people in an unfavourable light, hypersensitive to any criticism to the extent that any conversation that involves a slignt difference of opinion becomes totally derailed, needs constant praise etc etc

HARD WORK!

this is a pretty poor attitude to have, man. I mean dicks off the street, work chumps etc…aye, these cunts can go fuck themselves, but your true friends should always be given the most amount of slack humanly possible, however draining.

IMO

not sure if there was a reference to where this person fits into my life dude? - nor is there any reference to NOT giving people slack is there?

You just described 90% of the posters here, at least about 75% of the time?

Hard work but they just want to be loved. I try and remember that. Sucks to be you but sucks the be them even more. A lot of work though. Really should consider therapy but will often deny they have a problem.

I think vocab/the name of the disorder makes people get “being a bit egotistical” confused with “full blown NPD, makes everyone else’s lives miserable, has shaky grasp on reality and arrested development circa age 13”

Once had to spend a week in a guesthouse in a tiny village up in the alps with a co-worker who was a textbook case. Not good times. Provided some bizarre stories though.

This is a list meant to be about mothers with NPD, but tbh the general traits are the same. Rages from nowhere, manipulation, bizarre status games, gaslighting etc.

Very fair comment

I believe they produce them in a factory somewhere and issue a script.
