Good to know there are others who remember and confess to library copies. I was introduced to Autechre via library rentals - and the 2 quid sales! - I have first edition FSOL ISDN from there (albeit covered in library stickers). Another experience youngsters will never have.

Yeah, I had a fair few library copies as a kid - and then at college, the library would charge you to borrow CDs, but tapes were free as no one was interested in them anymore. Was great if you still had a Walkman to just be able to take out Led Zep’s back catalogue of whatever for a couple of weeks. The late 90s equivalent of streaming.
