Honestly kind of amazed soaps are still so big. Maybe Eastenders and Corrie are coasting on overseas markets too

Never realised how heavily they relied on the UK to fund it. Shame really. Mrs Mangel, Des Barnes, Daphne, Jane & Mike, Stonefish, Bouncer: all lost in time like tears in the rain

When you had a dental or other appointment during the day in the 80s you could watch the 1:30pm episode before going into school and you’d be ahead of everyone else who’d watch at 5:30pm.
It was the equivalent of your tech-y friends downloading various series ahead of their UK release currently.

Neighbours was always the measure of how shameful my day was going when I was a student. Not dressed by the first showing? Medium shame. Not dressed by the evening showing (that I would also watch)? Maximum shame.

He’s a big shot lawyer man these days.
Was a huge fan back in the day recorded it during my uni days and would watch it after work.
Remember being a young lad and going out to play and asking Mum to call us in at 5:33 so we had 2 minutes to get ready to watch Neighbours.
Seems strange that it’s going for good, it gets 3 times more viewers than Hollyoaks
My brother still watches it daily. Apparently ‘Plain Jane Superbrain’ is back in it. And Clive Gibbons
