I’m not sure there’ll be too many Nevermore fans on here, but only found out yesterday that Warrel Dane passed away this time last week.

Was gutted when the band split up, always wished greater success for them and hoped that they would eventually reunite so I could catch them live. I think Dead Heart in a Dead World is generally regarded as their peak, but personally always preferred This Godless Endeavor. It’s a fantastic album from start to finish and would recommend it to anyone that way musically inclined.

Can see how Dane’s voice might have been polarising, but once it clicked for me that was it. Powerful, versatile, unique, and for me one of the best in metal. RIP.
