They were properly good, weren’t they? The first album’s tracks have a bit more power live and the new material’s sounding great.

Disappointed that Norman Blake didn’t grace us with his freewheelin’ xylophone solo though, too busy standing at the bar. Rock stars, eh?

These new songs are great. I loved their debut but probably haven’t put any tracks on of theirs in over two years. Looking forward to their Koko gig even thought it’s at The Koko,

Who’s going to the gig at Koko? I am going alone and will look like less of a loser if I am hanging out with other losers x

I’m going to that gig (alone too). 95% of my gigs are solo gigs nowadays. Don’t worry about it. No one notices.

I haven’t had a chance to check the whole album out but the tracks I’ve heard so far are brilliant. There’s a cake next to my name too. Stuff’s brilliant.

For some reason their name pisses me right off

I’m not a fan of the name either

Presumably there was already a band called Always, but that isn’t even a particularly good name. Just think of a different one

Plimsoll Punks is a winner, even with the strange ending.

Think it’s to make it more googleable

I will continue to call them all v-vays, obviously

That Lollipop song sounds just like Olivia Newton-John. Makes me want a Ski yoghurt every time I listen to it.

Love this album, love this band.

this is fucking great

surprised DiS gave it 5/10.

This release and the Album Review thread was actually the perfect storm

I think it’s a great record

They’re playing more UK gigs in February

Loved them at End Of The Road  Shame about the gig in Belgium last night, apparently, a fan jumped on stage during Party Police and tried to kiss her :frowning:

I read that too. What an arsehole.

ughhhh vom. so unacceptable.

It’s alright I guess. Lacks some of the really hooky guitar shimmers that I kind of want the most from them, but good vocal performances. Like the garagey bits. Not something I can see myself going back to loads though.
