Not really into the Sparta album, it’s a bit nothing-y, it doesnt sound like them nor does it doing anything new.

I’d recommend the new Local H album though, especially to anyone of a certain age who lived through the alt-rock wilderness years between the death of grunge and birth of nu-metal…

New Elvis Depressedly - beautifully hazy, lo-fi, full band bedroom pop. Alex G, Majical Cloudz, Youth Lagoon vibes (he also released a mini album as Mathew Lee Cothran a couple of years ago)

This was my first album I heard of his (after hearing about it from another band I love, TV Girl), and it was so good. I like his other stuff to varying degrees, but not as much as that one particular Coma Cinema album.
Just listening to his new album now and enjoying it. (Hmm at that long Twitter thread about him though. Doesn’t sound good…)
