I actually kinda like this Strokes record.

Exactly the song that stood out for me too, knew you’d be a fan.

I loved New Alhambra from a few years back, this new one is my instant album of April so far

This is from his other, other project as well and probably my favourite album of his (just in case you weren’t aware of it)

Yep, one of my favourites of the year. Just such a lovely balance to it.

Heard of but don’t think I ever actually tried it. The guy is pretty damn good

(It should be noted that the release of Depressedelica was delayed from last year due to allegations of manipulation and abuse against Mat, some of which stemmed from this thread on twitter and led to him seeking treatment for addiction and mental health issues: https://mobile.twitter.com/fugazi420/status/1160361640153493504 )

(thanks tho)

This was my first album I heard of his (after hearing about it from another band I love, TV Girl), and it was so good. I like his other stuff to varying degrees, but not as much as that one particular Coma Cinema album.
Just listening to his new album now and enjoying it. (Hmm at that long Twitter thread about him though. Doesn’t sound good…)

The thread is also “not as bad” as I expected it to be, which is pretty damning in its own right. But shitty behaviour is shitty behaviour, not sure ranking what things are worse than others does me any favours

Just found out new Adult. album was out friday on Dais records. Last couple have been great so high hopes for this

This new Flat Worms album is hitting everything out of the park this week. Can’t seem to get it anywhere though.

Yeah it’s a pretty…murky(?) situation.

Really enjoying the STRFKR 's new album this morning: uncomplicated great pop tunes.

I was at that Glastonbury show and also have very fond memories - Cut Yr ribbon is a brilliant tune. Must stick on the LP again

Just listened to a couple of Sparta tracks - different band altogether - seems quite Britpop…not my cuppa!

Yeah, I wasn’t feeling it either. It has prompted me to listen to their first 2 records again which is something I s’pose.

New one from Kool Keith out - colloboration with powerviolence duo Thetan plus a bunch of others (Gansta Boo, Blag Dhalia from the Dwarves)

Hmmm…a little disappointed by Midwife tbh, so laid back it’s almost comatose. There’s a good 40 minute album from Prayer Hands and Forever (which I am now assembling), but there seems to be quite a lot of filler on Forever (half a track of spoken word, some lackluster interlude style tracks, etc). Hope this isn’t diminishing returns from now on, since like author / like daughter is genuinely stonking.

Nice LP from K-Lone. Warm, drifty house with lots of field recordings, bird sounds, general ambience and lush textures. Extremely pleasant.

Edit: wrong thread
