Lots mentioned I’m excited about especially new Lambchop. Some others I’ll be checking out

Pair of EP’s from some nostalgic 90’s indie artists

Smooth saxophone, rainy day jazz

Dark ambient, drone (featuring Grzegorz Bojanek)

Downtempo, experimental, ambient with some jazzy elements.

Some good stuff on here. Relatively accessible metal with some grand synths from time to time

Came here to spam Charlie’s record, so thank you for doing it for me haha! not sure if anyone knows/ cares, but he used to play in that band MONEY that were everywhere a while ago, but then kinda just disintegrated.

Oh, and his debut album (on Bella Union no less) is also well worth checking out-

Full album from the pop star that gave us Drivers Licence earlier this year. Some of the singles have been good.

Owe Me was a great slice of icy indie pop

Solo rap album from the bassist of The Internet

Close to You was a low-key banger that fans of Currents-era Tame Impala or Metronomy might like

Me when Pang has a different format CD packaging to Babelsberg and Seeking New Gods

All about the very atypical Nashville stylings of Yautja for me today:

Something to enjoy for fans of mathcore/grindcore/hardcore punk, among other cores.

My friends band have an album out today

its a lovely synth pop album - well worth a listen

Every time I hear Oliver Rodriguez song De Javu on the radio I think it’s No Surprises. Think it lofts the melody /progression. Decent song and that plays into the title.

really excellent - very much my thing - picked up on bandcamp!

This is a lovely 9-track album by Jim McCulloch (Snowgoose / The Soup Dragons guitarist / BMX Bandits / Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan collaborator).

One of his label’s rare 10" vinyl series.

Well worth a listen…

Excellently-titled album of shape-shifting R&B. One track features in-the-know-DiSsers’ fave rapper Saba.

Penfriend - Exotic Monsters

Lyrics inspired by literature giants such as Margaret Atwood and Ursula Le Guin set to 80s synths, lo-fi beats, 90s indie guitars and modern pop.

Some more music that I’ve been enjoying this week.

Pop / R&B fix sated by an exciting EP from the Ivor Novello Rising Star 2020 winner Mysie and a short but very smooth album from Sinead Harnett.

And a couple of instrumental collaborations:

An organ and tuba duo “meet in their common fascination with the oriental tonal language.”

Warm, serene, beautiful and sophisticated instrumental melodies from bassist Sverrison and guitarist Frisell (originally released in 2017 as part of a larger box set)

DiS does it again. Never heard of Lord Huron before but this is phenomenal. Will be diving into the entire discography now. Thanks!

CHAI are the bees knees, aren’t they? No punk at all on this one, but they’ve made the leap from the sound of their debut to this album so well. This is excellent.

Heard a track from this album on Radio 3 one morning last week and it was great, enjoyed listening to their work on Spotify later that day though I couldn’t find the song I’d heard earlier - turns out it was because the track was on a new album released on Friday.

Italian folk bangers. Who knew? Might be my favourite new music this year.

pretty much listened to this on repeat today. if you like modern composition, ambient, new age, etc. this is your new jam:

This record is fuckin raaaaad
