The end a good month:
Greet Death - Die in Love
Somehow it has been 6 years since their last record.
Shoegazey post-rock, likely with sad lyrics.

All about Greet Death for me today. Can’t wait to get into it. The weather is perfect!
Jeanines - How Long Can It Last
C86 jangle, 90s noise pop and folk rock.
MeLostMe - This Material Moment
Gorgeous electro/freak-folk from Newcastle, now with a full band featuring some Pigs x7 members! ffo: Björk, Conquering Animal Sound, Joanna Newsom
Forgotten how to merge from my phone so just locked the thread and copy pasting your post as there wasn’t anything else in the thread
Pig Pen - Mental Madness
Matty Matheson and members of Alexisonfire playing hardcore punk. FFO: The Bear seasons 2 and 3
Deadguy - Near Death Travel Services
Influential late 90s metallic hardcore heroes back with….a second album. FFO: Botch, Snapcase, basically all those late 90s hardcore bands
Just about to give the new Lorde album a spin. Interesting how few reviews big albums get in advance nowadays - album of the year compiling reviews of Virgins
Update: disappointing listen. Not sure it’s going to reward repeat listening as the record feels a bit like moving from an empty WeWork to a serviced apartment. Had really high hopes for this. Will give it another spin at the weekend to check I’m not just in a bad mood.
Technically out a few days ago - new Young Fathers soundtrack to 28 Years Later
Nick Leon the big one for me today. Latin electronic / pop. Couple of good P4K / RA reviews.
Got 7 new Bruce Springsteen albums to listen to today!
Mizmor - Mnemonic: Ambient Mosaic
Album of ambient, drone type stuff from the otherwise blackened doom monger Mizmor. I believe these are pretty old tracks from his Patron complied as an LP.
In between the Bruceathon how about a pallet cleanser of
In which he gets sober and confronts his abused childhood with some surprisingly jolly tunes. If the singles are anything to go by.
Brìghde Chaimbeul - Sunwise
Drone folk originals and recreated traditional songs. Hebridean player of the Scottish smallpipes whose last album (Carry Them With Us) was one of my favourites of 2023.
Etnobotanika - Kosmobotanika
Electronica duo from Poland with their third album. Their 2023 album Leśne Duchy found a few fans here I remember.
Of the three pre-release tracks I’ve heard, one was funky/jazzy like Quantic and two were closer to deep house.
Putridity - Morbid Ataraxia
Unrelenting brutal death metal. Not going to win anyone over not already into the the sub-genre, but if you have an appetite for this kind of thing it ticks the right boxes.
Bonus plug as they are playing in Camden soon.
Gelli Haha - Switcheroo
Debut album from the LA electropop artist. Very 1980s, lots of fun.
BC Camplight - A Sober Conversation
Alt-pop singer-songwriter.
Every BC Camplight album has a backstory every bit as compelling as its music. A Sober Conversation is no different, as virtuoso songwriter and pianist Brian Christinzio documents the last two years of his life, finally confronting a shocking childhood trauma while embracing sobriety, to create his bravest and most revealing record. It’s an enthralling, sometimes haunting quasi-concept record marked by ruthless tragic-comedic purging and sublime, intricate melody, knitting lyrical screenplays to dazzling arrangements.
