A few big releases for me, I’ll post one album per reply to help with trackability etc.

Model/Actriz - Pirouette

The singles have all been great (especially Cinderella and Diva), plus some strong early reviews too. Sophomore album from the industrial dance punk band who kind of sound like LCD Soundsystem crossed with Daughters.

Pup - Who Will Look After The Dogs

Toronto Pop Punk/Post Hardcore band that sinks or swims based on the strength of their songs. Last album was their weakest for a while but the singles indicate a return to form.

Jenny Hval - Iris Silver Mist

More artful icy synth pop from the Norwegian

I will also be checking out CSH, Propagandhi, Blondshell, SENTRIES and Loscil but those are my big 3.

At Peace- Propagandhi. Hardcore punk.

Big day for Canada that this is coming out the same day as the new Pup.

Regal Cheer - Quite Good

DIY punk that’s regularly under 2 minutes a song

Shearling - Motherfucker, I am Both: “Amen” and “Hallelujah”

Hour-long one-track debut from Alexander Kent and Sylvie Simmons’ Sprain follow-up project. Guessing from the title that it’ll make The Lamb As Effigy
 sound like Aqua in comparison.

A few I’m really looking forward to today.

Anthony Naples - Scanners

Sixth album and follow up to 2023’s brilliant ‘orbs’. Hypnotic and woozy electronica.

Milkweed - Remscéla

Eccentric folk which takes inspiration from Thomas Kinsella’s translation of the TĂĄin BĂł CĂșailnge. Fans of last year’s brilliant Folklore 1979 will know what to expect.

Rainy Miller - Joseph, What Have You Done?

Experimental electronic producer from Preston. Fuzzy R&B, noise and murky ambience. FFO Space Afrika.

Two Shell - NEW TWO SHELL 24HRS

Time-limited release of electronic tomfoolery

Elaine Howley - Hold Me In A New Way

Limited 7” from The Altered Hours member. Spine-tingling stuff. Boomkat have copies and I bought one after hearing snippets of the tracks last night. Really special.

Lael Neale - Altogether Stranger

The third Sub Pop album by minimalist auteur, Lael Neale, is a gorgeous album of drone-pop inspired by transcendentalism, Dionne Warwick, John Lennon, primitive American gospel, and Spacemen 3. The 9-song LP covers an unexpected breadth of musical and lyrical terrain, from garage rock nursery rhymes and creation myths to Motorik dance dirges and solitary Omnichord meditations - From the Resident write up

Press Club - To All the Ones That I Love

Excellent Aussie indie punks keep expanding their sound. Still expect some ragers with earworm chorus shout-along hooks, but seems like they’ve added in a lot more shimmer and jangle and space. All still anchored by the best front person in the game, very keen for this

Midwest emo

Pet Symmetry - Big Symmetry

Big sounding emo rock from Chicago based band. Think that sorta Jimmy Eat World sound.
