Another band by the main guy from Into It. Over It if that hooks anyone else in
Club Night - Joy Coming Down
Mathy, post punk and noise pop influenced emo. Second album, released on Tiny Engines has influences from ATDI, Cap’n Jazz, Pretty Girls Make Graves.
This is a little terrifying, but absolutely brilliant.
Paco Cathcart - Down On Them
NYC musician with first album under their own name. Indie folk with winding guitar lines, synths, layered vocals and skittering drums. It’s sounding good.
I’d say Cory Hanson/Wand, pop era Jim O’Rourke and quieter YLT are the reference points that come to mind.
Leather Hearse - Burn in Heaven
New release on Southern Lord. Technical / mathy post-metal (?). The vocals sound very reminiscent of Neurosis to me.
It’s all Blondshell for me today
Confessional, catchy indie rock
Blondshell - If You Asked For a Picture
Angel Bat Dawid & Naima Nefertari - Journey to Nabta Playa
Stone circle jazz
Litronix – One a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Futuristic synth pop from LA
Warm Coat - Ambition
Debut album of dreamy, brooding, atmospheric indiepop out of Wales.
You might remember their 12 minute epic “Valley Lines” that did well in last year’s “Best of 2024” Music League?
Tiny Vipers - Illusionz, Vol. 1 (1997 - 2004)
Collection of unreleased recordings, showing how her sound developed in the run-up to classic debut Hands Across The Void.
Real Estate – The Wee Small Hours: B-sides and Other Detritus 2011-2015
Rarities and curiosities from familiar American indie rock band
Been waiting for ages for this. Already love it only 2 songs in!
Yeah felt like the rollout took forever, and they released so many singles! Luckily I skipped most of them , keep things fresh
Sextile - Yes, please
LA rave punk duo who have me partying like it’s 2005.
PUNCHBAG - I’m Not Your Punchbag
Some similarities with Sextile on this debut EP of hi-NRG electro bangers from siblings Clara and Anders Bach.
Debut album from Brighton based band
Suzanne Vega - Flying With Angels
40 years and 1 day since Suzanne Vega’s debut album came out, this is the 10th album overall and first album in 9 years from the singer-songwriter who emerged from the 1980s Greenwich village folk scene. I’m a big fan of hers and have enjoyed what I’ve heard of this so far including the Dylan homage Chambermaid and the punky (for her) Rats.
Elsie Lange - The Normal Discontents of Living
Folk-pop singer-songwriter from Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet - HausLive 4
Excellent experimental guitar quartet (Wendy Eisenberg, Ava Mendoza, Bill Orcutt, Shane Parish) with this recording of a 2024 live performance at Constellation. Came out earlier this week (29th April).
NewDad - Safe EP
Follow up to last year’s well loved debut, moody shoegaze/dream pop from Galway
