Also out today but as not anticipated a new album from my band Captain Frederickson!

Leaned into a little noisier/ heavy territory this time. Sounds kinda like a cross between Mclusky and The Big Club.

FFO: Dyson Airblades , Darts, Killing Jared from Subway

“Introverts Unite but with enough distance so that we don’t actually have to interact with each other” Enjoy

James Massiah - Bounty Law

It’s called an EP but it has 8 songs which is an album in my book.

Newie from the acclaimed London artist / poet and one half of Babyfather.

Alicia Edelweiss - FURIE
Normally my new music friday ritual is to skim listen through the new albums on my spotify list that I think I won’t like, just so I can see if I can dismiss them to reduce the backlog. But today I’m starting with a full listen of Alicia’s new album, as I’ve been looking forward to a new album for a few years now. So so good live also.
British-Austrian outsider-alt-folk-pop, with a maybe marmite voice like Joanna Newsom. Lovely strings and orchestration, accordion, synthesizers, and a lovely cover of Daniel Johnston’s Walking The Cow.

PinkPantheress - Fancy That

Sample-heavy 90s-influenced hyperpop mixtape that zips by in 20 minutes - clocked Underworld and Basement Jaxx references in the first few minutes.

Nature TV - Unlucky For Some

Jangly indie-soul from Brighton band. I’d add Metronomy and Ducktails in to the bands referenced below too. Another one for the good weather.

Maruja - Look Down On Us

New ten minute epic from the lads that song a bit like early BCNR but a bit more intense.

A Necessary Escape - M83. French big synth sounds soundtracking a doc about the Dakar rally apparently. I’ve always liked his more cinematic stuff so sounds good here

Alien Boy - You Wanna Fade 90s alt rock vibes - pretty much exactly halfway between Siamese Dream and The Blue Album
