New notifications not being marked

Awful wording

When you get new notifications, they used to be highlighted when you clicked to see them, to distinguish them from notifications you had already viewed. This isn’t happening now.

They are but the colour is barely distinguishable, it’s like on tone of grey darker on mine

and the number of updates is not appearing either

Edit: On the phone it seems fine, laptop browser not so much.

Yeah, it’s a nuisance. I changed theme and it helped ever so slightly.

never done this before! My good grief the Dirty Yellow is something else.
