Oh, and although it was mentioned in another thread, there’s the new Hurts album too if you’re into that sort of thing. (Not me particularly but I live with someone who is very excited about this.)

Listened to the first couple of songs on the Throwing Muses album. It’s all perfectly fine, but does just sound like all their stuff. I wouldn’t object to listening to it all, but feel there are far more interesting things to be hearing at the moment, so think I’ll give it a miss.

Undecided about Lomelda. Keep thinking it’s a bit boring and am about to turn it off, but then there’s a little moment that makes me doubt myself so will have to give it another listen.

I never got round to it yesterday but glad to hear it’s good. :+1:

Human Condition by Street Nights. It’s a solo album from one of the Jicks (drummer, I think) and has Malkmus on guitar on some songs.

Debut EP by UK post black metal band Corps Fleur released today. FFO Deafheaven, MOL and Oathbreaker

New EP by The Ophelias (missed it when it came out a few weeks back, so will stick it in here). Been a big fan of their albums and this is lovely too - jangly indie with some excellent violin, sometimes moody, sometimes sweet and soaring

The Saint Saviour album is very good; the songs that make up the album are from several differing genres. Makes for an excellent listen.

No option to vote for Fightmilk?

There will be tears in the @Scott_Chegg house tonight.

Was going to talk about this actually, because it’s a really fantastic track and people should listen to it

I’ve only been sticking to albums and EPs in these polls - partly because I’m a bit lazy but also just feels like a clear delineation in my head. Would people want singles in there as well?

  • Yes
  • No
  • Not bothered

Just wanted to acknowledge the stupendous Fightmilk single this week.

Personally I’m not really interested in recommendation for singles in this thread, there’s so many LPs and EPs to get through that I’d rather keep it to that and discuss singles elsewhere - I think I see singles more like a trailer than a proper release, though maybe I’m a bit out of touch with that.

I will listen to this one though since you insist.

Think I agree with you, that’s how I see it in my head. But happy to listen to the masses here if people feel differently.

Ah thank you! Lily’s vocals are amazing on it, imo.

We’re booked into Dean Street to finish recording the album in a couple of weeks and I’m truly, truly worried that stricter lockdown things will be enforced by then meaning we can’t do it.

Just got around to listening to Watertank, and am really liking what I’m hearing. Thanks!

Nice one! Been a good couple of weeks. The marbled teal vinyl variant turned out nicely too, available on their bandcamp page.

I found the different genres a little jarring… maybe I need to listen some more

Yes, do. I am enjoying Saint Saviour having only got to it this week. Would have given it a vote on this poll if I’d pulled my finger out a little earlier.

Late to the party, but +1 for Saint Saviour

yeah all of Watertank is good, but when the sax comes in on the last song - didn’t expect that at all! Now that’s how you finish an album
