New album from Turnover - Myself in the way. Emo-adjacent, and their record Peripheral Vision is one of my favourites of the last decade. I’ve not really chimed with the singles from this, it’s a chunk poppier and jazzier than I’d expected, but going to give this some time:

Just a reminder that it would be really helpful to @dantrobus if everyone could include the artist and album title in their post to make it easier for the end-of-week polling.

And for someone with as little musical knowledge as myself, any description (no matter how brief) is always welcome thanks.

Looking forward to seeing what you have all unearthed this week!

ooh I forgot that this was dropping this week. For some reason in my head I thought it was still way off in January or something daft like that.

Boldy James & Futurewave - Mr Ten08

3rd or 4th album of the year for Boldy (I’m losing track), the others have been of a high standard so I’m hoping this latest on his tour of underground producers follows suit. Hip-Hop.

Romare - Fantasy

… takes a more abstract approach to sampling than his previous work, bringing his own instrumentation and vocals to the fore, while folding elements from fantasy cinema into his distinctive strain of rhythmic, off-centre electronica and kinetic club music.

Just bought my copy - 8 Euros from their website which I think is a little cheaper than Bandcamp.

The four tracks released so far are great, so can’t wait to get this loaded up and to hit play.

CS+Kreme - Orange

“CS + Kreme morph into modal jazz electronic mutations on a deadly cool but restless new album exploring the fissures of Detroit beatdown, early ‘00s electronica, contemporary midnight jazz and ambient rituals, featuring contributions…”

Interested to hear this - Peripheral Vision’s a vibe, but my sense is they sort of checked out on the last couple of releases. Not in love with the new sound, but glad they’re not just going through the motions.
