Dream Sitch - Long Rattle

Second collaborative album from Michael Nau and Floating Action. A quick fire record. Nau sent Action and vocal plus guitar or loop. FA then played the other instruments, one take at a time, improvising as he heard the vocal for the first time. The idea being to create an album based on remote collaboration.

The result is a languid, hallucinatory feel to the music. Swirling synths, layered guitars. Sideways has a psychedelic retro soul shuffle going on, knots is a sunny lilt

The label that Truth Club album is out on is my favourite. Can almost always guarantee a good listen from something on that label

October’s not calmed down. I have 42(!) albums (well, a few are EPs) today from bands I’m following! Will just have a nice relaxed listen to Sufjan first.

Dorian Electra - Fanfare

From the tracks I’ve heard so far, this one’s going to be an industrial hyperpop kind of sound. Expect plenty of over-the-top horny bangers. FFO not putting music on the work stereo:

I Have A Tribe - Changing Of The Guard
Irish musician, maybe like a sad slow Villagers. He was the last gig I saw before covid stopped everything in March 2020, and I’ve been quite looking forward to this one.

Top of the list for me today

Milc & Televangel - The Fish That Saved Portland

Milc teams up with Televangel (formerly of Blue Sky Black Death) for a second album together following 2022’s excellent Neutral Milc Motel. Features include AJ Suede, Sleep Sinatra & Fatboi Shariff. Hip-Hop.
