🍄 🍂 New Releases 07/11/25 🍂🍄

Quite a lot of music to get througg this week, just you wait and see. Gonna kick things off with…

Allie X - Happiness Is Going To Get You

Never quite sure what we’ll get from this Canadian pop star. This album comes hot on the heels of last years eeighties style electro goth album, I’ve a feeling this one will be a bit more Beatles sounding but will undoubtedly have her oddball twist to it.

Ultra Lutra Lutra - Variations

My new EP is out today! 4 hypnotic, polyrhythmic instrumental workouts, no idea who it sounds like but I’ve definitely been listening to a bunch of Craven Faults, Panda Bear, Oneohtrix Point Never, Horse Lords, Water From Your Eyes, Jockstrap and Do Make Say Think recently and they’ve all found their way in I think.

ROSALíA - LUX

Follow up to 2022’s excellent MOTOMAMI

Spanish flamenco/pop/dance. This time recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra

Numero do a live Husker Du set. Based on the prerelease bits, this might end up being the best way to listen to these fantastic but notoriously poorly recorded songs

Buddie - Glass

Fuzzy, poppy, grungy pop band out of Vancouver. FFO LVL UP, pavement, built to spill ect

Kali Malone & Drew McDowall - Magnetism

Drone / ambient artist Kali Malone teams up with drone / ambient artist (and former Coil man) Drew McDowall, for drone / ambient project.

"McDowall added: “The music is surprisingly accessible even though some of the timbres are extreme; it’s not foreboding or even opaque. We might even be dabbling with pop sentiments.”

43 albums released today by artists I’m following (and don’t always remember I’m following)! Have skimmed through most of them and whittle down my list to 19. Will see if I can whittle further. They really should just release something in December and then I’d be more likely to listen to them for more than my impatient 20 seconds of judgement.

Clark - Steep Stims

Enjoying this so far. Seems like a return to his techno/IDM roots. No Thom Yorke, no vocals, not a soundtrack and you can dance to it.

Danny Brown - Stardust

Detroit rapper has teamed up with a bunch of hyperpop producers on this. Really excited to give it a listen, tbh…

Stella Donnelly - Love and Fortune

Latest from the Western Australian/Melbourne based singer songwriter about a painful breakup with a friend. It’s excellent.

Fun thrashy hardcore bops.

Constant Smiles - Moonflower

Co produced by Katie Von Schleicher and featuring Cassandra Jenkins and Fred Thomas. Very goldflakepaint, quiet, understated, folky pop sorta stuff I suppose. Gentle hooks, soft vocals. Real nice
