New Releases 08/04/2022

Ah good find. I got it on cd at the time but didn’t think it was on vinyl.

Kylie Minogue - Infinite Disco

Surprise digital release of the live album from the November 2020 livestream concert, which itself was made to help promote her 2020 Disco album.

Calexico are great, and I’m really enjoying this. Doubt anything will top it this week, but got the normal shit load to get through.

Problem with bands that are so hyped up like Wet Leg is that when the album finally lands, I’m already fed up of about half of it. But would definitely enjoy it if I was coming to it fresh.

I just wanted to post about this album again now that I’ve actually listened to it, as it’s not really laidback bedroom indie pop. Or, if it is, then it’s a very majestic version. It’s stunning. An amazing voice and sound. I think I probably have a few favourite songs on the album (including the last track), but this one is nice and sounds like it’s found on some strange magical old style vinyl record, especially at the end. Will probably continue listening to this album all day. Just bought tickets to see her at the end of the month, even if it is just as a support act.

I’m so listening to this later.

Was scrolling this thread for something to listen to and gave this a go. It’s excellent - really lovely. I can’t fully place what it reminds me of but I think there are some similarities to Laura Marling in places, and some of it maybe wouldn’t sound out of place on the Boygenius record too (these are both good things)

Edit - I’m not actually sure either of those comparison references are actually that good on further consideration/ listening but either way it’s still very good

Reminds me of Antony and the Johnsons or something of that ilk

Signals Midwest - Dent
Emo tinged punk rock, sort of like the Swellers, Anxious, Jawbreaker etc.

Really great this I think

Terrible news coming from the band this weekend. The lead guitarist was involved in an accident after the release party for the album.

More details at the gofundme page.

Randomly listening to this and really enjoying it - the exact purpose of the thread/site. Thanks!

Some light music for the Post Vote disco…

Giulio Corini & Daniele Richiedei - Duo Imperfetto - Album - Folk / Jazz / Bluegrass
Italian group with light folksy music, no idea what they are singing but it really works for me.

This is great. Two Rwandan farmers with an acoustic guitar. The lyrics apparently deal with their experiences of the genocide so it feels rather crude to say it’s a lovely listen - but it is.
