It’s a great sound isn’t it? 4 albums in and I’m not sure they’ve written a discernable riff yet. Just pure resonating fuzz alchemy.

also her vocal lines are almost always just a dominant 7th and nothing more. but it doesn’t matter they are so fucking GOOD!

If Kelly Lee Owens has got a whole album this good to come it’s going to be amazing.

If I were to describe the sound, it would be KLANG KLANG KLANG KLANG, KLAAAANG KLANG BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Dunno how much mileage they can realistically get out of this sound but this is somehow the best iteration on it yet. I loved the video for ‘Sound’ off the last record as I think it sums them up perfectly - just one fixed shot done again and again overlayed on top of each other and yet it’s utterly mesmerising.

That’s probably closer to capturing it than all the words I spent reviewing Ardor.

that’s the thing that’s interesting I think, over each of their records I thought they couldn’t really shift their sound any further but then they do. It’s subtle but it still works!

Second album from the concept band ffo emotional acoustic stuff, Craig Finn, Bruce Springsteen, Mountain Goats.

I really enjoyed the first album and on first listen this is sounding good too.

Has anyone been able to locate the purple mountains track (new David Berman/Silver Jews project) to

think its only been distributed on vinyl to some record stores. That’s what I gathered trying to search for it.

semi-JAG as she’s a good pal but annie booth’s new EP is out today and it’s fucking excellent

I’d also recommend the first album to get the first part of the story. All the songs are sequential.

Hopefully will end up on soulseek. I can imagine him disappearing forever again :no_mouth:

If he tours with this I actually neeeeeed to see him

I enjoyed listening to an advance copy of Death & Vanilla’s latest in Monorail a few weeks ago, so that’s already bought. Holly Herndon is next on the list.
