There’s a posthumous Chris Cornell covers album out, if anyone’s into that sort of thing (I am not)

Sturgill Simpson has done a TSwift and dropped a second surprise album of the year

‘Cuttin’ Grass, Vol. 2: The Cowboy Arms Sessions’

My fingers are crossed for that Atmosphere cover…

Oh what an atmosphere!
I love a party with a happy atmosphere

Dino Brandao, Faber, Sophie Hunger

I only know Sophie Hunger, a German singing lady. Don’t know about the other two (or entirely sure how many different languages they are singing), but I’ve had one listen through of this album and it’s absolutely beautiful. Going straight onto my second listen now. Lovely voices and music.

Douglas Dare has a 3-track EP out with a rework of Heavenly Bodies with the LCO, plus a duet with Peter Broderick & a Leonard Cohen cover:

Loney Dear also has some sort of “christmas song” out today:

Came to post exactly this. Not as immediate as the first album, and maybe doesn’t reach the same highs, but it’s more interesting and varied. I like it a lot!

Surprisingly (literally) alot of releases for mid December release day. Usually this week is exclusively Christmas novelty and greatest hits to get dad for Christmas.

GBV, Avalanches and Kid Cudi for me today.

Oh, the Rosie Carney is rather lovely. The only mis-step for me is Sulk but the rest is beautifully done.

totally agree, less immediate highs and can hear a bit more of the old Have a Nice Life style in there, but I can totally see it getting under the skin more. (in a good way) The last release of the year I was looking forward too and hasn’t dissapointed at all.

A live Belle & Sebastian album does not seem like the most essential thing at the moment. My love for them dropped off a cliff the moment I heard Dear Catastrophe Waitress. I almost didn’t bother listening to it at all, but som eof the other comments above made me give it a go.

And it turns out a live Belle & Sebastian album was exactly what I was needing after all. Even songs that I’ve never really liked, such as Nice day for a sulk, are filling me with a surprising amount of joy.

It is pretty rough in parts - some of the singing is bad. But that kind of adds to the charm for me a bit.

Really enjoyed that Field Medic album, parts of it remind me of Pinegrove in their most acoustic mode - that emo alt country thing. Some great lyrics too

Had this on for about 3 days straight now. Love it! Thank you so much.

Oh, and of course there is the Osees with Panther Rotate. Not sure that has been mentioned as yet (apologies if it has). Just listened and very much enjoyed it. Link below, (although I am sure everyone who wanted to has already taken this in days if not weeks ago)!
