Happy Friday!

Lots of potential unexpected gems today. Looking forward to hearing the Lotic album on Tri Angle. Laurel Halo’s Raw Silk Uncut Wood mini album just sounds a great album after the one listen.

Liked what I’ve heard of Marlowe so far, which @colossalhorse mentioned up thread. Norman Westberg from Swans is the Boomkat album of the week, and that’s on Room40 too, so always good! Also Stray Theories is the Norman Records album of the week, and they said it should appeal to fans of Hammock and Eluvium, so well worth a listen.

Aha yeah I noticed that tender McCartney vibe all over Blue Bird too!

It’s such a breezy, summer-y record, isn’t it? Was honestly a bit put off by last years S/T so I’m glad that this has come out so soon after…

Oh there’s something new out on Slumberland today, an increasingly rare occurrence. Sounds like exactly what I want from a Slumberland album, will be giving it a listen after lunch.

Not massively feeling Donato Dozzy. Not sure his minimal approach works with the acid sound palette.

Coincidentally the new albums I’m listening to today our the debut albums by The Vega Bodegas and Bodega. As the old saying goes you wait for one band with Bodega in there name and then two come along!

Dirty Projectors - Lamp Lit Prose is a delight. I ended up really liking the s/t so enjoy the meshing of some of that sound with the old stuff. Also nice to hear a previously sad and bitter man sounding happy and in love.

Just checking out The Babe Rainbow - Double Rainbow now, hippy people who are friendly with King Gizzard. Sounding real nice but just to warn, does include psych sitar, some of you squares might not be able to handle it
