Just been recommended this album by Bandcamp which came out on Monday. Definitely for fans of Lomelda, very nice and Pay what you can:

This is right good, an EP, not an album mind

This title track is very good

Yacht - Sub Versions

The dance-pop band from Portland, OR return with 8 covers, recorded during the first 3 months of the pandemic.

Cheers to everyone listening & downloading the album - great to get so much positive feedback

I Heart Noise posted a handy track-by-track if anyone wants to take a look/listen

Not sure how I missed these guys in 2020, it’s right up my alley. That song you linked in particular is so great.

I liked the first one (One Rizla is obviously such a tune) but couldn’t quite square the hyperbole about them being an iconoclastic post punk ground zero (or whatever) that came with the record, with it sounding a bit like an angry Flowered Up or (stick with me young people) an indie dance Godfathers.

This new one, though, sounds like the band that people were talking about in the first place. It’s great: nasty, funny, weird, touching and absolutely nothing like the spectacularly dreadful Idles. Hope people give it a proper go, without a tour to support it, and they don’t get caught up in the surely-coming backlash to bunch o’lads narrative Lamacq rock that must be just around the corner.

Yeah the shame album is good straight forward post punk. Their earlier singles annoyed me.

And a Daniel Johnston cover album:.

That new Pom Poko record is a blast to listen to.

That Ashnikko album is fucking wild. Brilliant stuff. The sk8er boi rewrite is jokes.

Most fun album I’ve heard in a while

I expected hate because of their similarities to other bands that get hate

Only criticism is that it’s over too quickly! (But I also grudgingly respect that they don’t outstay their welcome)

Lots of really nice moments on this. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed this album of contemplative solo vibraphone/marimba pieces after seeing the Pitchfork review this morning.

Just listened to the first two songs so far, and it sounds really lovely. Thanks!

The new Shame record is much better than the debut - thought the Debut felt forced and not at all natural - this record does. I finally ‘get’ the hype

They’re (Shame) doing a 12 hour stream on YouTube today (to try and flog some more records). Seem a decent bunch of lads on the whole.

yeah Shame is grand - very good release week really

That Sleaford Mods album is dire.
