Ladytron album is great. Waiting for my copy of the Chaka Khan record to arrive.

Motorpsycho for me. Didn’t realise BSS had a new EP, so them too.

There’s a new Yann Tiersen album out today.
Also, a new album from The Long Ryders (alt-country/Paisley Underground) - the first in a few decades.

the new golden daze album is a cracker, for fans of real estate/beach fossils etc

I put this on in the car on my drive to work - it’s an absolute jam.

Also Ladylike on the new Chaka Khan record is a TUNE.

I saw SWMRS a couple of years ago, when I took my nephew to see Green Day.
I wasn’t a fan, but the nephew loved them. Thought I’d give the latest album a listen, and I actually quite like it.

This looks interesting

I love what I’ve heard of this, but only about half of it’s available to stream (same on Bandcamp) so might have to order the CD.

Dipped into a couple of songs on YouTube and it floats my boat. Probably buy it later.

the first album’s good too but this feels more considered

One more for Methyl Ethel, Scream Whole and Trip the Mains were great singles.
My contribution is Chain Wallet, dream/jangle pop from Bergen.

Will have to give Woman’s Hour a bash.

this came out today, haven’t had a chance to listen but I suspect it will be as the title suggests

Really enjoyed Ladytron - very pleasant surprise

Savage Mansion was also great - was a new name for me today so thanks for the recommendations on this one. Stylistically definitely similar to Courtney Barnett. Will certainly return to this

BSS also very lovely - a little more melodic and less chaotic than some of their stuff, in a good way. Hoping ‘vol 2’ won’t be far behind

Best album I have heard this week is Black Tenere by Kel Assouf, out on Glitterbeat Records. Tishoumaren music Ă  la Tinariwen/Tamikrest/Mdou Moctar, but with noisier Sabbath-esque guitars and synths. Really looking forward to their next Saturday at The Lexington!

Check out Traffik Island, it’s the side project of Zak from ORB (psych band on King Gizz’s label)

Heard a description of ‘Big Star crossed with Syd Barrett/Kevin Ayers’

This has been my favourite week of the year so far for new releases. Nothing that quite feels like an album of the year yet, but Ladytron, Pye Corner Audio, Kel Assouf, Nubiyan Twist and {what is available on Spotify of} the kankyo nongaku compilation have all been really enjoyable.

Yep, agreed, it flows pleasantly. FFO the Clientele or Ultimate Painting, I’d say.

So far this is the only release that has really caught my ear this week, but then again I still have a lot more listening to get through.

Just spotted that there’s a new record out by HOMESHAKE, for any fans of lo-fi R&B / synthpop on here.

Thanks for the SM tip - really enjoying this
