Let’s go DiS
Love the Stranger was my AOTY, extremely excited for this.
Beat me to it. Can’t wait to listen to this.
Third song from my No Slugs project is out today. Synth-heavy bop about a world where they’re building a wall which blocks out the sky. Jobs for all!
Tune-Yards - Better Dreaming
New one from Merrill
Ezra Furman - Goodbye small head
Singles have been ace so looking forward to this
Billy Nomates - metal horse
A reminder that a little bit of description, indication of genre etc, makes this much more useful! Thank you ![]()
New one from Hoveriii, a band that has grown on me a lot over the years. Psych Rock, usually quite melodic and with loads of 70s psych rock/kosmische/prog influences.
Sorry guys. Happy to leave posting to others but I’m on my phone and juggling a 2 year old so won’t have chance to add descriptions right now
Mourning [A] BLKstar - Flowers For The Living
The Cleveland Afrofuturist soul collective are back. Ancient//Future was one of my favourites of last year. This is sounding great too.
New one from Full of Hell - Broken Sword, Rotten Shield
FFO of prolific metal that i struggle to describe. They call themselves grind terror which makes sense. Fast, screamed, 7 songs in a little over 15 minutes. They’re quite the live band. Blistering.
Miso Extra - Earcandy
Poppy electronica bops. She supported Kelly Lee Owens but I think she’s got a more contemporary and straight verse-chorus pop sound.
Ffo Metronomy, MGMT, Santigold*
(*I think? I’m really bad at this bit)
Grails - Miracle Music
FFO Sprawling instrumental post-rock epics.
MØ - Plæygirl
Hoping for more excellent Danish electropop. Still listen to her last couple of albums regularly.
I’ll have a crack at a description for this one then… (and also thank you for putting the artist name and title in bold, even while juggling that 2 year-old! - it really helps when I come to make the weekly poll)
Indie rock (folk punk is one of her Bandcamp genre tags and I can go with that) singer-songwriter, with added string section and some electronic elements to this album, which is feeling like an album of the month contender for me. Her 10th album is “twelve variations on the experience of completely losing control.” It’s a desperate time to be trans in the US at the moment (or here in the UK for that matter) so I dunno how much of this is projection on my part, but there feels like a rawness and urgency to her voice on some of these tracks that I really love.
New one from Billy Nomates
The Callous Douboys - I Don’t Want To See you You In Heaven
New one from this band
probably silly mathcore emo
Slow Mass - Low on Foot
Mix of stormy shoegaze and crushingly heavy Chicago rock. The singles have been wonderful so far.
Thank you kindly
