It’s a re-release from last year , but Tomberlin’s ‘At Weddings’ is great.

This was released last week no?

ah right, thought it was today.

It is amazing though. AOTM for me. But yeah, last Friday

Forgot this was out this week… Waters Rising is ace.

Released loads of EPs since the last album… remember being mesmerised when I heard this from Seven Lies…

Yeah. I love Death Cab so gonna spin that. Wasn’t a huge fan of Mitski before but I’ll play the new one too.

I’ll have to investigate that. I quite liked the last one, but it was really slight (too much so to really get a proper handle on tbh)

Nice review Scagden. I haven’t listened to much Pajo/Papa M in a while, but I like the sound of this.

Sucks to hear he’s been going through some tough times.

Really nice review. Absolutely nails down the feel of the record, particularly the last paragraph about the final song. Great work.

I gave up on them around the Steve McClaren II album.

I think I read that he felt boxed in by Youth Lagoon’s reputation - like everything was always going to be viewed in terms of being introverted or reclusive under that name, and he wanted to branch out. While it’s still not clicking as a whole, I’m excited that he’s pushing himself. It feels more impressive and more of a logical next step from Wondrous Bughouse than Savage Hills Ballroom did.

That’s an interesting song and it definitely does remind me of Dicegame with that surprise electro-wall in the second half. I’d never heard of them before, I’m going to have to give the album a shot.

I’ve just had on elisten through of his new album, and so far I agree that not all of it clicks. But some songs (including the one you posted) are very good.

I hope you like the s&s album! She finally has a new album coming out in October, which I have high hopes for, fingers crossed…

I was at the XX, support from These New Puritans and Esben & the Witch. Only thing I ever saw at Studio 24.

That’s a stacked bill. Blimey.

Smote Reverser = ACE (though definitely a grower)

Be The Cowboy = GROWER (Want to say that ‘it didn’t grab me like Puberty did’ initially (but that sounds like it should be a quote for my headstone or one of those DiS headers…) but it’s genuinely pretty great)

Thank You For Today = LIKEABLE (though feels like Death Cab have gone even further done the soft route that Kintsugi was taking. Kinda miss a slightly grittier production that Walla gave them)
