Thanks - will check out Weakened Friends - Sound up my alley. In terms of grunge revival I’ve been returning a lot to Losing by Bully this year. Great stuff. And would be a big climber on my end of year list if I had to revisit now.

Cloud Nothings released a split single of sorts recently and there was a track called Now I’m Blind - not on the LP oddly - but its a riotuous lo-fi adrenalin scrap of a song and I love it. Looking forward to the new one - last one was strong. Realise My Fate was one of my tunes of the year. Coiled energy finally unravelling in collapse.

Oh, didn’t realise the Big Lad album was out today as well. Great synth/drums two piece in the vein of Lightning Bolt and Adebisi Shank for those who enjoy propulsive math rock pyrotechnics.

Weakened Friends and Papercuts sound good, so will check those out later thanks.

Currently listening to “Every Now And Then” from noisy indiepopsters Wolf Girl, which is sounding pretty decent so far.

Never heard TVAM before but this is banging. Really love it on first listen and can see myself returning often - thanks!

Great stuff! Heard one of their tracks on 6music a couple of times and was surprised there hasn’t been more fuss elsewhere. Found it immediately very enjoyable.

More breaking news from the albums-I-forgot-were-out-today desk: Domkraft do some big, relentless, slightly unhinged, Swedish stoner rock riffs and a former Parts and Labor guy does a loud guitar heavy concept album about Mars with Upper Wilds.

Too. Much. Music. Can’t. Keep. Up.

New album from The Residents. Currently listening. I dig it

Cheeky single out on Disintegration State today. First track is weird house then second one is a drum & bass noise-fest.

3 posts in this thread already and I forgot to mention that. Even though I was listening to it while posting at least one of them.

Kiran Leonard has a new one out today, really enjoyed Grapefruit, thought it was a bit underrated. He’s a really talented guy.

Really enjoying the new Neneh Cherry. Beautiful Four Tet production, a lot of the backing tracks would have fit nicely on his last album.

I really don’t care about anything other than the Empress Of record.

[big long post where I manage to articulate the effect of her vocal hooks]

The REM live boxset is out today, that’ll keep me busy all week I reckon.

The new This Will Destroy You came out on the 16th so…kinda fits here. It’s the part two to the part one that was released a week or so back. It’s even better

I think this is the best residents album for years

this song is a fucking choon

Had this on in the background this morning and it sounded like he was onto another winner!

Currently started listening to this with a final drink at home. The first disc is stunning. 10/10.

I’ve got the physical product being delivered next week. I can see it being put on rotation for months and years like the rest of their stuff.

Yeah the man can’t miss atm. Feels like a bit of a stopgap kinda release but it’s still top notch stuff.
