Prince - Versace Experience and Mudhoney’s new one. Very 90s day for me.
Fly Pan Am are a weird one for me - listened and liked the first album and the mini-album they followed it with but don’t think I’ve heard anything subsequent. Is it good stuff? Might be time for a big catch up.
15 years since they released anything. Quite a gap.
great juxtaposition of styles
Long Beard Molly Sarlé Vivian Girls and Brittany Howard for me.
This is exactly how i feel about them. Going to go back over their stuff this evening i think…that ep was great (the one with the green and pink cover) and always enjoyed a good lie down with the first album
I’ll give Blink a spin but other than that I’ll be listening to the (Sandy) Alex G album released earlier in the week.
There’s something about him I love despite his baffling duets with auto-tunes chipmunk voices and general kookiness. He’s different in a good way.
On my second time round with Joe Armon-Jones. It’s darn good.
Only other albums I fancy are The Juan MacLean and Edwin Organ I guess…but lots of new singles.
Come on September, you’re slipping!
Just Vivian Girls for me today, but will be following this thread for some suggestions
October’s gonna be SILLY though
Body Hound is out. Forgot about that. Admittedly a bit too noodly for me, but there’s definitely things to enjoy for those more inclined to convoluted prog riffery. Impeccably produced though
Chasitity Belt for me, have loved all the singles so far
Girl Band next week, all is still well in September camp
Came here to post this, been waiting for it for years!
Not feeling the M83 at all.
Going to pick up Free Love - Extreme Dance Anthems later
Enjoying Cult of Luna aka The Moon Boys
Off doon the toon for One True Pairing and Efterklang today.
Really hoping Tom can hit it for six like Hayden did.
Ditto! Had high hopes but It’s all a bit slight & inconsequential so far
New M83 sounds like the Final Fantasy X sountrack
When I was a kid the school dragged us several times out to Avant Garde French Canadian plays which were utterly baffling. One that sticks in the memory in particular involved a writhing giant worm. This M83 record could easily have soundtracked this play… which is not a compliment.
