Well, I ended up picking up Julian Cope’s new album (!!!) because my only music & entertainment chain-store local to me have somehow mysteriously misplaced all their copies of Random Desire…

Still, new Cope, woo!

This is beautiful.

Arca’s new single/mixtape whatever wtf it is, is streaming on Spotify from today having been on YouTube earlier this week.

“’@@@@@’ is a transmission broadcasted into this world from a speculative fictional universe in which the fundamentally analogue format of FM pirate radio remains one of few means to escape authoritarian surveillance powered by a hostage sentience gestated by a post-singularity AI,” Arca says. “The host of the show, known as DIVA EXPERIMENTAL, lives across multiple bodies in space in virtue of her persecution—in order to kill her, one would first have to find all of her bodies. The bodies that host her carry fetishes for paralinguistics, breaking the fourth wall and nurturing a mutant faith in love in the face of fear.”

Okay.

King Krule’s really dreamy. Don’t agree with the pitchfork review that was like THIS IS THE SOUND OF ANGUISH. It just sounds grimey and inner city and melancholic but also kind of light to me. Def lighter than OOZ.

Sounds like walking through a city a tad drunk on a Friday night, although maybe that’s because…

The new Guided By Voices is a good time, one of their better late career albums

now the visuals make sense

Some real keepers for AOTY this week:

Lanterns On The Lake - their best yet !!
Agnes Obel - just back from Rough Trade launch show, woozy
Part 1 of the Moses Sumney meisterwerk
1 Mile North - surprise release from Ambienty/post- rock veterans, lovely
Only managed one listen to Douglas Dare so far today, but seems a grower.

More weeks like this, please God ! (That sounds like a shit Elbow b-side).

just started listening to the Grimes record. this 1st track really is quite lovely.

Oops. I forgot Ruiner by Wilsen, which others have mentioned too. Their best set of songs. Playing the Lexington in October.

Royce da 5’9" The Allegory could be a highlight for rap enthusiasts

Mostly popped in to endorse Moses Sumney

Not enough talk about the new Beatrice Dillon record going on in here. Early contender for AOTY.

That was released 7th Feb (streaming at least); there was definitely some positive chat about it that week. It is very good!
