just started listening to the Grimes record. this 1st track really is quite lovely.

Oops. I forgot Ruiner by Wilsen, which others have mentioned too. Their best set of songs. Playing the Lexington in October.

Royce da 5’9" The Allegory could be a highlight for rap enthusiasts

Mostly popped in to endorse Moses Sumney

New Medusa album dropped at midnight, I’m diving straight in!

Not enough talk about the new Beatrice Dillon record going on in here. Early contender for AOTY.

That was released 7th Feb (streaming at least); there was definitely some positive chat about it that week. It is very good!

I’m enjoying the new Lanterns on the Lake…I usually find them to tread too closely to MOR music, but this has a little more drama to it. A few too many ā€œon the noseā€ lyrics aside, it’s a lovely ā€œwide screenā€, post-rock influenced indie rock record.

Both the Agnes Obel and Rebecca Foon albums appear to be very nice orchestral pop…prefer the latter so far but only had one listen of each.

Prefer Miss Anthropocene to Art Angels…but thats personal as I find AA’s production to not be to my taste. Still not at the heights of Visions, though.

Feel like I should listen to King Krule as he’s somehow crept above Bright Eyes at EOTR…but I’ve never been bothered before. I think I’ll leave the Moses Sumney record (which I’m very hyped for) until it comes out in full in May.

PAT METHENY - FROM THIS PLACE :+1: :+1:

love the way the orchestral/chamber instrumentation is arranged. Maybe his best since 2005’s ā€œThe Way Upā€

some great, magical moments on this, even with it’s 77+ minute length. Reminds me at times of how I fell in love with Pat Metheny’s music many years ago.

Wrong thread, meant to post this in 2020 Albums Hype

Glad you like it!! It blows my mind how good it is every time I listen to it, can’t believe how much of it is home recorded/mixed
