Unsurprisingly small pickings again today, but I have:
DoomFolk StarterKit - Sundown
Instrumental winter album, with a fair bit of banjo and dreamy sounds.
Surma - if i’m not home : i’m not far away
Portuguese ethereal dreamy ambient folk. I loved her album last year, although this is only 20 minutes long.
T.hanks, Chinless Wonder - Everyone Loves You EP
Sounds quite fun. Like a mix between The Avalanches and The Real Tuesday Weld.
Guillaume Ferran - Escort Boys (Original Series Soundtrack)
No idea what the Escort Boys show/film is, and I wasn’t expecting to like a soundtrack for it, but this sounds like nice neo-classical tracks from a French composer that I was following.
There is also an EP by The Phantom Band showing, but it doesn’t quite sound like them, so maybe it’s just a name thief unless I’m mistaken!
Garage punk. Accidente from Madrid provide four songs for this split album, with Toulouse’s Nightwatchers contributing six. Name your price on Bandcamp.
Błoto - Szlam / Ścieki - Single - Electro Jazz
Released today. This Polish electro jazz act return after releasing 2 ace albums in 2020, Erozje & Kwiatostan. This 2 single release is definitely an evolution of their sound so I’m looking forward to the full album. FFO Go Go Penguin
Kase - The Proof - EP - Scratch Funk
Released 24/12. Only the 1 preview track so far but it’s alright, might suggest promise. A light mellow sax with a groove beat and some turntable work to accompany. FFO Fingathing

Broc Thunder - Influence - LP - Jazz
Released today. “Celebrating the 50 years of Hip-Hop, Influence is a celebration of the curators of the sound of HIp-Hop over the past 50 years. This is the first volume of compositions inspired by my [Lance Underwood] favorite Hip-Hop producers.”
Birdsnake - Birdsnake Begins - LP - Electro Dub
Released 21/12, although might be delayed as only the 3 singles are still available. A heavy use of reverb is off putting to me, but I liked the track The Redeemer so waiting for the full release.
I have an album of live and unreleased tracks out today. Mainly live sessions, one unreleased studio track and some recordings from shows. Free download from Bandcamp and on all platforms -
Seems to have become traditional for Euros Childs to put something out just before Christmas. Had a quick listen earlier - mostly piano and guitar based stuff this time round. Just need him to have a break from Teenage Fanclub and do another solo tour. Oh, and it’s free/pay what you can.
David Newyln - Other Places, Other Times
“Old piano recordings made on an old out of tune piano in an elderly care home in North East England.”
Some glitches and hissy tape sounds too. Quite liking it.
