Really surprised by the new Brockhampton. Very mellow and personal - feels like a properly sequenced and put together album, which feels rarer and rarer with big hip hop releases atm - felt wonderful to walk in the sun with just.
The new Tropical Fuck Storm is great. Felt the last one was in the shadow of Private Execution but this is much better balanced. And better.
Listened and I’m way more into it than I thought I would be. Still don’t really like the single but can see it growing.
Can you tell me what the pop bangers are, so that I can skip straight to them? Hat 60+ min albums.
Well, I put “I Forgot That You Existed” and “I Think He Knows” straight on my 2019 playlist. I also loved “You Need To Calm Down”. There are a few more but I need to give it another listen; there a few too many attempts to Do Something A Bit Different which bring the album screeching to a halt.
Never listened to Tropical Fuck Storm before, not what I expected based on their name - in to it.
You heard Gareth’s other band The Drones? Worthwhile checking out if not
The Jay Som record is everything I wanted it to be. I am so happy.
The new Alexander Tucker for me, and Ginger Wildheart’s latest solo LP as well (it came out last week but I didn’t know about it 'til today…)
Horsebeach. That unmistakably delicate touch of rummaging through Mothers panty draw while she’s away at mahjong. Oh me. Oh my.
Have been enjoying Headie One’s new mixtape (uk rap/drill). Need to check out the new Brockhampton album
Don’t know loads about them tbh/tbf but this is a solid gold 80s banger, especially as it’s 4 o’clock in the morning, and still I cannot sleep
Check out WAAX for a bit of pop punk
Carriers - Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself & Everyone Else
Has the drummer from The National and the bass player from The Afghan Whigs playing on it. Judging by the singles I would say for fans of…The War on Drugs
don’t tell anyone.
If too many people found out it would be top of the AOTM thread😊
New Rachel Sermanni is lovely
Lunch Lady - Angel
Debut album by the LA quartet, drawing on post-punk, kitsch and country balladry narratives.
I’ve had it on all weekend pretty much. Can’t get enough of it. Probably my favourite album of theirs since Rohnert Park.
they weren’t well received in the powerviolence scene so I’m glad they moved on
they were massive in that scene and people still stick by them to this day from that?
