Job For A Cowboy - Moon Healer
Former MySpace shitty deathcore darlings have evolved over the years in to an excellent cosmic death metal band. Big fan of the current death metal trend of making every album cover look like a da share z0ne meme. FFO: Tomb Mold, Blood Incantation

Mick Mars - The Other Side Of Mars and Ace Frehley - 10,000 Volts
Two potential nominees for stinker of the week here. Two classic rock guitarists from bands who released seminal glam rock albums. Both left those bands on awful terms and had embarrassing public falling outs with the remaining members. Both have now released a new album on the same day. Coincidence or shrewd play for our attention? YOU DECIDE.

The Body And Dis Fig - Orchards Of A Futile Heaven
Noise metal experimentalists latest collaborative album, this time with uhh whoever Dis Fig is. Expect waves of dissonance and ethereal vocals.

Allie X. Might be good, might be shit. Quite liked some older tracks.

Not thought about JFAC in about 15 years. We used to call them something very infantile when we were 16.

Another in the excellent series of Can live albums.

Recorded around Ege Bamyasi/Future Days, so should really hit the spot.

Erick the Architect

Solo album of hip hop from Flatbush Zombies member. I don’t think I know the Zombies but his single came up in my Spotify algorithm somewhere and I really liked it. Looking forward to hearing what else is on there.

Guiltless - Thorns

New doomy / post-metal release on Neurot (Neurosis’ record label).

Obviously it would be a lazy comparison to say that they sound like Neurosis - but they sound quite a lot like Neurosis.

Maya Shenfeld - Under the Sun

The album I’m most looking forward to is this experimental synth/voice album from Berlin based composer Maya Shenfeld. Her last album, 2022’s In Free Fall was really good, and the reviews sound like this is going to be great.

UK Hip Hop/Grime I enjoyed his introspective last one moderately.

Retro synths in a full LP from the creator of hip coffee shop hit ‘What is a Girl to Do’

Ooh I actually got in early and can contribute this week!

Whitelands - Nightbound eyes are blind to the day

Enjoyed the singles I’ve heard on the radio, pretty nice shoegaze. They have been supporting Slowdive.

Not breaking any boundaries but nice to my ears
