Hyped as fuck about this one
It’ll be the new Lana Del Rey for me. I see that it clocks in at slightly over 1¼ hours.
Depeche Mode
All about Debby Friday for me today. FFO Jpegmafia, clipping
JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
Rap collaboration featuring two alternative heavyweights.
Arooj Aftab, Vijay Iyer, Shazhad Ismaily - Love in Exile
Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab, jazz pianist Vijay Iyer and synth player Shahzad Ismaily get together.
FROID DUB - Deep Blue Bass
French electronic dub. FFO Om Unit’s ‘Acid dub studies’.
Debby Friday - GOOD LUCK
Nigerian Canadian artist, the description I read of this invokes Nine Inch Nails, Death Grips, Crystal Castles and… Beyonce.
Andrea - Due in Color
From Bandcamp: Andrea’s second album “Due In Color“ was primarily created in 2020 and 2021. During these crazy and decelerated times he explored more hazy and experimental Jazz, which inspired him to use more acoustic sounds in his productions. Dark loud clubs are in a far away distance, while Andrea takes us to wonderful blooming fields.
Angel Bat Dawid - Requiem for Jazz
From Boomkat: Staggering new 12-part opus by Chicago’s jazz standard-bearer Angel Bat Dawid, advancing the vision of 2019’s ‘The Oracle’ with a compelling critique of racial politics in contemporary USA.
‘Requiem for Jazz’ is a sprawling treatise on the African American story by one of jazz music’s leading protagonists and significant creative voices.
Let’s give it a link of its own…
Lana I guess. Not expecting much
Congratulations DIS, this is new fall out boy.
Thats what i would be saying if you werent an inch too short
The Red, Pinks and Purples - The Town That Cursed Your Name
Jangly indie pop from the very prolific artist
Kate Davis - Fish Bowl
3rd album from the alt-folk/Americana artist. Goes harder than you’d think at times.
Lankum - False Lankum
Fantastic drone-folk group
Just Lucinda Chua for me. Great EPs until now that are usually quite slow and sparse ambient pop I guess. Slightly smokey jazzy vibe with a cello and effects. Not sure if the album will continue in that vein but looking forward to finding out.
Big day - Lana, Caroline Rose, Danny Brown/JPEGMAFIA and Black Country, New Road. As that’s the only one I don’t see mentioned so far:
Big hearted baroque indie band continues to move past their post-punk roots. The lead singer left last year so the band scrambled together a setlist of songs from their individual catalogues. So this is all new material featuring vocals from three band members. My understanding is that they aren’t putting it on a new studio album as they weren’t written as BCNR songs
The Bouncing Souls - Ten Stories High
Excellent 90s skate punk, this one clocks in at 26 minutes. If you have ever listened to and enjoyed a Punkorama compilation you’ll like this.
The Hirs Collective - We’re Still Here
Raging anonymous hardcore collective with an all star lineup of guests including members of MCR, Soul Glo, Shirley Manson.
The HIRS Collective exist to fight for, defend, and celebrate the survival of trans, queer, poc, black, women and any and all other folks who have to constantly face violence, marginalization, and oppression. We are a collective of freaks and faggots that will never stop existing. Infinite and never ending. No one is going to kill us, we are going to live forever.
Third edit because I’m listening to this now and it’s an absolute blast.
Fourth edit because I found a better quote from them about their mission and the album is making me want to smash stuff up. Just got to the track featuring Melt Banana and it RIPS.
On my first listen…… so, so good.
This is fun. Can always rely on Hank to make me feel 14 again with some choice skate punk
Everyone too cool to actually link it?
Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
Very excited to get stuck into this
