Album cover looks like they’ve signed to Roadrunner. Excited.
Dawn Ray’d - To Know The Light
Anti-fascist UK black metal feat. violins.
There’s a new Liturgy record out today.
Also very excited about the Lankum, Angel Bat Dawid and Arooj Aftab/Vijay Iyer/Shazhad Ismaily records.
And yes I’ll probably listen to the new Fall Out Boy one too…
Feels like another day of a lot of good albums. Seems to be happening more and more nothing for weeks then a load drop on one day
New Rat Heart Ensemble not quite as good as A Blues but don’t think anything was. The last track THE FADE 1 is one long drone and is somehow one of the best things I’ve heard this year.
and new Sockethead which I haven’t heard yet but will be 1st on the list this morning, can’t find a bandcamp link

Navy Blue - Ways of Knowing
Jazzy hazy indie rap, recently signed to Def Jam. Navy’s Reprise was one of my top rap projects of the last 5-10 years, so I’m well keen for this
FFO Wiki, Earl, MIKE
They are such a great band, one that really crept up on me, hated them at the start. Really cool thing to do, and really loving the new songs, amazing how they’ve just kept adapting to all the changes.
Peggy and Danny Brown worked together? Fuck. May as well cancel all other music
It’s insane.
BCNR wasn’t working for me, had a kind of student theatre vibe. Scaring The Hoes on the other hand is wonderfully bananas
Excellent! Thanks for the heads up.
After a quiet week Hip-Hop wise last week, today’s stacked (Danny Brown/Jpeg & Navy Blue already mentioned up thread) and…
Kool Keith & Real Bad Man - Serpent
The legendary MC teams up Real Bad Man (who produced two of my favourite albums last year for Boldy James & Pink Siifu). Features include Ice-T, Atmosphere & Edan.
Jae Skeese - Abolished Uncertainties
Signed to Conway’s Drumwork Music Group & fresh off the collaborative project between the pair “Pain Provided Profit” which came out earlier this month, Skeese releases his first solo project of 2023. Features include Conway & Freeway.
Spectacular Diagnostics - Raw Lessons
Boom Bap with features from a whole host of underground rappers including: Sonnyjim, Kid Acne, Fatboi Sharif, Jermiside & Mike Ladd.
New Bella Boo EP on Barnhus
Lycoriscoris - In the Stream
Chilled electronica.
That Kool Keith album seemed to come out of nowhere. Edan!
Damn, this is a strong week and a reminder of how much I love these threads. Wouldn’t find half of this stuff without them, so thanks all.
This is really good. Doldrums sounds even more incredible nestled in the middle of an album.
It’s a truly bonkers day - Lana Del Ray, Liturgy, BCNR, Dawn Ray’d (who I’m seeing tonight ), Peggy + Danny Brown, and Debby Friday. Not to mention all the other good stuff that’ll get posted here.
Think I’m going to start with DF. Can’t quite fathom how the last non-single release was a 2019 EP. This track from it is a banger and the video is great so I’m gunna share it;
Never thought I’d see the day when I wasn’t interested in a Danny Brown album. The only single from it I’ve heard sounds more like Jpegmafia than him and didn’t interest me at all.
Angel Bat Dawid and Navy Blue for me today.
Oooooh and Liturgy too.
Cécile McLorin Salvant - Mélusine
Vocal jazz sung in French along with Occitan, English, and Haitian Kreyol, telling the European folklore legend of Mélusine, a woman who turns into a half-snake each Saturday as a result of a childhood curse by her mother. Mélusine later agrees to marry Raymondin on the condition that he never see her on Saturdays. He agrees but is ultimately convinced by his brother to break his promise, piercing his wife’s door with his sword and finding her naked in the bath, half snake, half woman. When she catches him spying on her, she turns into a dragon and flies out the window, only to reappear every time one of her descendants is on their deathbed. A story I think we can all relate to.
