New Releases 25/09/20

This is a nice listen, thanks - finding the vocals quite relaxing.

I feel like this is being slept on

(its really a nothing song - not nearly bad enough to be interesting) Just 2020 of COURSE Vin Diesel puts out a single

Ah, good memories of discos in Leeds in the '80s. Actually a nice listen, cheers @rob.orch.

Yep, looking forward to getting stuck in.

Scottish psych rock. Did a lot of supporting Twilight Sad a few years back.

From your description of Profligate it sounds like something my other half will love, and I will pretend not to like. Looking forward to giving it a go!

(From about 1:40 in…very odd😂)

The foursome of Hen Ogledd, Svalbard, Sufjan, and Deftones has made for a good weekend of listening  That I have really enjoyed them all is great too.

Never heard of Noiserv before, but this new album is a real beauty.

Ooh cool, glad you like it! It’s really lovely.

His last album with singing, Always Visible Orchestra, was in 2013 and is really great too, and definitely worth lots of listens. Plus it’s in English too. He’s got so many great music videos and his previous cd and vinyl records have got such great packaging also. I’m waiting for Bandcamp Friday before ordering this album, although the packaging looks a bit more normal this time I think.

Enjoyed a whole bunch of stuff this week but Svalbard has been the pick. What a consistently brilliant band.

I haven’t listened to it yet, but this record seems to be getting rave reviews (currently scoring an 88 on Metacritic).

Think the record sleeve subliminally channeling Leonard Cohen is earning him a few incremental points.

It is a good album though.

This is proper great this. Might be my favourite material he’s done solo

Liking this. The singer reminds me of Tim Harrington from Les Savy Fav and Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedys :ok_hand: :jazz_club_cool:

Not managed to listen to Bob Mould, Death Bells, Fleet Foxes, Hen Ogledd, Noiserv, Pillow Queens, Sunbane or The Ocean yet. Why does all the good shit get released on the last Friday of the month grrrr

Yeah I voted for my own record. No I’m not sorry.

Also, Deftones, Sufjan and Sarmism. Was the new Field Lines Cartographer last week too?

Possibly? If it wasn’t mentioned in the thread I may have missed it…

Yup

Thurston Moore record really surprised me - it starts a bit by numbers but the longer tracks have some fantastic ‘jam’ sessions in them and its really sonically pleasing
